Look closely and you'll see the words of the Declaration of Independence running across the dial, the actual text the founders put their names to. An eagle takes flight above it, wings spread, raised and embossed so the detail catches the light. The Liberty Bell sits just beneath it, the same bell that rang out over Philadelphia on July 8th, 1776, the day the Declaration of Independence was proclaimed in public for the first time. Red, white, and blue streamers sweep across the face like they're moving in real wind, all of it sealed under sapphire crystal.

Turn it over and the story keeps going. Engraved on the caseback is a Minuteman, the colonial militia who earned that name because they had to be ready to fight at a minute's notice. It's a fitting name for a watch too, one built to track minutes of its own. Set into the center of that engraving is real oak, taken from the sturdy beams of the USS Constitution, launched in 1797 and still afloat today, the oldest commissioned warship in the world. She earned the name "Old Ironsides" when sailors watched British cannonballs bounce clean off her thick, oak-armored hull.

Born from Old Ironsides
The USS Constitution earned the nickname "Old Ironsides" the day her sturdy oak hull turned away British cannon fire. Launched in 1797, she fought and won every battle she was ever in, and today she's still the oldest commissioned warship afloat anywhere in the world.
Every Minuteman Edition caseback holds a real piece of her famed oak timber, giving each of the 1776 watches a physical connection to the storied history of the United States.
