Look closely and you'll see the words of the Declaration of Independence running across the dial, the actual text the founders put their names to. An eagle takes flight above it, wings spread, raised and embossed so the detail catches the light. The Liberty Bell sits just beneath it, the same bell that rang out over Philadelphia on July 8th, 1776, the day the Declaration of Independence was proclaimed in public for the first time.
